BoostER
at the service of start-ups

BoostER is a pre-acceleration programme funded by the Emilia Romagna Region and aimed at innovative early-stage start-ups, entrepreneurial teams and innovators in sectors such as AI, big data, clean energy and space.
The programme is completely free for start-ups and offers comprehensive support to turn an idea into a globally successful business.

BoostER provides training, bespoke mentoring and technical assessment from international experts, offers fundraising support and plans international roadshows for global launch.
Start-ups have the opportunity to expand their business in France and Europe thanks to the support of Creative Cluster France.

Objectives and expected results

The overall objective of BoostER is to consolidate and structure a pre-acceleration pathway of excellence, capable of transforming high–technological-potential startups into solid, scalable, and competitive companies. The program aims to enhance their attractiveness to the capital market and industrial partners, while ensuring full alignment with the objectives of the PR-FESR 2021–2027.

The project pursues the following specific objectives:

  • Technological and scientific validation of the developed solutions
  • Strengthening of entrepreneurial skills through structured training and specialized mentoring
  • Internationalization and European expansion of the participating startups
  • Promotion of Open Innovation initiatives and qualified connections with industry and research ecosystems
  • Facilitation of access to capital and enhancement of capital readiness

In summary, BoostER, with the aim of achieving the expected results in terms of growth, consolidation, and acceleration of participating startups, synergistically integrates training, research, networking, and access to capital. The program contributes to strengthening the role of Emilia-Romagna as an internationally oriented innovation hub and operates in alignment with the priority areas of the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy (S3).

How does it work?

Your journey to success

BBoostER is not just a programme. It is a transformative experience that helps start-ups grow, develop and evolve through different phases, from the early stage where it is essential to validate the most critical aspects of the business model, to reaching the market and raising the first investments.

Each year, applications are opened in the autumn. After an intensive selection process, they are closed in the second half of the year. Between December and January, the presentation event for the selected start-ups takes place and in January-February the programme officially starts.
After a series of events, training sessions, dedicated mentorships and international roadshows, the programme concludes with a Demo Day & Pitch Event in the summer.
